Professor Ann Black is an Associate Professor in the School of Architecture and Interior Design at the University of Cincinnati. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design and her Master of Arts degree in Design Management and Planning, both from The Ohio State University. Before joining the faculty, she practiced interior design for ten years with The Limited, Inc. and Wendy's International, Inc.
Professor Black has presented at many conferences on topics ranging from studio pedagogy to management within design firms. A theme that runs through Professor Black's teaching and research is the crucial connection between education and design practice. She organizes her studios and seminars around the principle of collaborative education, in which both educators and design practitioners enrich and deepen the professional experience of students.
